It's all in good fun Don, but you already knew that. This blue boat character is always trying to poke fun at people, trying to get them to blow up thier stuff!
He just might get his way this next season... _________________ If it ain't broke, keep fixing it 'til it is! |

The main focus of this revision was in the jet pump.
As you know, I sold the impeller, bowl, suction housing and pop-off from the Mach 1 a few months ago.
My goal is to turn up the engine to its full potential but before this happens,
I need the jet pump to pull down the engine from 10,000 RPM.
After talking with Duane at HTP regarding the R&D work of American Turbine with the jet boat "Awesome Toy",
I decided to try the newest generation components.
I again enlisted the help of Jack at MPD to detail and assemble the new jet pump components to include:
American Turbine Hi-Helix 9.5 Stainless Impeller
American Turbine Extrude Honed Bowl
American Turbine High Performance Bearing Kit
Dominator Housing
Miersch Pop-Off
1.6875" Thick Shoe With Shims
Jack also used the DPS cavitation reducer from the previous jet pump in the new build.
With this new jet pump, I hope to see a decrease in engine RPM as well as an increase in MPH.
If the engine RPM decrease is significant,
I can turn the engine up to match the jet pump and get back to 10,000 RPM.
I will post some pictures soon when I get the jet pump completely installed. _________________ -

I ran it at Modesto Reservoir on September 2nd at 8:00AM with very good results.
I was planning on making 2 passes
(1st pass was a 300' safety pass, 2nd pass was to be a half track MPH run)
but because of poor water conditions I could only run the 1st pass.
During the 1st pass using the new pump and hardware the boat really hooked up well,
better than it ever has in the past.
The new Miersch pop-off worked extremely well for the shutdown. _________________ -

Dam WIlliam I thought you were a Chevy man????
Hemi is the only way too FLY! isnt it?
Lots easyer to make BIG power with a Hemi than any kind of Chevy isnt it?
Becarefull with that MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How maney Cubes are you runnin now?
How much boost, and how much advance are you runnin especialy when you step up the fuel? you can answer that in a PM if you want too.
I kinda got out of Boats since we talked last and I moved too this dam desert. Kinda wished I had kept my tunnel but having to pull it 500+ miles to and from a suitable place to run wasnt my idea of fun any more.
Did you sell off your Chevy stuff or did you hide it away? _________________ Dennis

Hey Dennis,
You are right, it has been a long time since we've talked.
The Hemi engine is 557 cubic inches and the screw blower makes 55 PSI of boost.
The blown alcohol Chevy engine was very stout but it is not in the same league as this Hemi.
I sold the Chevy engine to a guy in So Cal, he was going to put it in a Hondo runnner bottom.
Nice to hear from you,
-William _________________ -

NOW THAT'S A COOL RIDE! I just thougt I had a lot of money in mine!
that is a ton of motor for an open cap boat. What is the current e.t. and speed? Is there any place to run in a sanctioned race in an open boat that fast? In our area there is nothing for quicker than 8 seconds in an open boat.
Good luck
