Below is a sound file from a short test run at Modesto, engine was tuned for alcohol only, water was a little rough.

This was the first time back in the water since last October.

Thanks for the compliments Sqk, Camo and Cyclone.

I am taking the boat back down to Jack at MPD in a couple of weeks to get the pump inspected after the 10K RPM runs.
Currently, the shoe stack is at 1.250" total thickness and I am also picking up a couple more shims while down there.
The plan is to fully turn the engine/boat loose on a 6 second pass Labor Day weekend and record a 150+ MPH run.
I can't believe it has been 3 years since I initially posted my goal, where did all the time go.

That sounds like great fun. wish i could be there to see it happen but i can't. I know i'm going to sound like i'm beating a dead horse, but a lot of people would love to see a 150 mph jet run again. It would be awesome if you brought it to the september race at Ming. The closest thing we got to a truly fast jet boat running these days is Hot Tub so it would be cool to have an even faster one on the track. think about it.

Thanks Mike for the compliments and it was cool to finally meet you last weekend at MPD.
Although it would be great to run it at Ming, I have no current plans to do so.

It has been a long 3 years since the Mach 1 Project began,
there have been many obstacles to overcome
but I have finally met and actually surpassed my goal
of running 150 MPH in a 1/4 mile or less in an open jet.

I planned on running sometime during the Labor Day weekend
and chose to run Friday morning in hopes of getting the best water possible.
We arrived at Modesto Res around 10:00 AM,
the conditions were absolutely phenomenal.

Around 11:00 AM from a ~25 MPH rolling start to flattening the butterflies and hitting 10,000 RPM for a count of 6,
the GPS recorded a max speed of 152 MPH.

Many thanks to Brian (Blue Boat) for not only helping out again with the run today but for being a great friend.

Also, many thanks to the good friends I have met along the way who have supported the project.

The Mach 1 Project has been completed

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, but if you insist, he is the great and powerful Mr. Blue Boat.
